Accident victim thankful
The Daily Advance (Date Unknown)
Dear Editor:
On July 30, I was in a terrible automobile accident in Moyock.
This letter is being written to commend the outstanding efforts of the Moyock Volunteer Fire Department.
I would like to give special thanks to Richard Royals, Jeannette Burdick and Jerry Windfred who were in constant attendance with me from the time of the accident until delivering me to Chesapeake (Va.) General Hospital's emergency room.
These volunteers were professional and extremely compassionate to me through all my pain and trauma.
I have to add a special thanks to Richard Royals for constantly persuading me not to lose consciousness. This trainger became a friend, helping me deal with my fright. He reassured me that I was going to be all right and calmed my fears as only a friend could do.
No words can express my feelings for these trangers that rescued me. I will not forget them and will always keep them in my heart.
Their timely response, quick action and positive results, reflects great credit upon the volunteer rescue squad and the people of Moyock. You are truly special!
